Hi
I am a total newbie when it come to XMPP but i beleive we should be able to make this work with google talk.
The client does not connect(no error message just shows offline)
Settings
XMPP API Settings
------------------
XMPP Server: talk.google.com
XMPP Port: 5222
Other entries blank
XMPP User
------------
XMPP Server Domain: gmail.com
In the user account settings :
XMPP User
JID: myname@gmail.com
Password: mypwd
Resource: Web
Any help welcome

darren.ferguson commentedThe client is an http-bind client only hence to be able to utilize googletalk you must put an apache server re-direct specifying that your /http-bind/ is going to google talk however i do not know if google actually run http bind on theirs so you would have to check on that

darren.ferguson commentedIf you want to utilize it with GMail look at the punjab application that was specified also.
It is a python app that sits between gmail and your browser app and basically keeps the connection open to gmail on port 5222 while it listens for http requests coming in from you.
This is a little harder but it would be an option if you had to utilize google talk for this.
