Set 'published' date/time of entity to Workflow 's change date/time [#2939969]

It'd be great if there was a setting in Workflow module to have the Drupal published time to match the Workflow state change time.
Similar feature: The 'scheduler' module has a feature similar to this in the content type setting called "Alter Publishing Time - Check this box to alter the published on time to match the scheduled time ("touch feature").".

Why? I have articles that sit in a workflow state called "submitted" or "reviewed" for several days/weeks before being moved to the "published" state and then they never appear on the homepage because the drupal publishing date/time is the date/time when it was originally created.

This can be done
- automatically, or using an extra config checkbox
- using the truly used time the state has changed (cron time) , or the planned change time (ScheduledTransition time) . There may be a difference of minutes/hours.

As per my understanding,
When the article is schedule for published state,
once the article will get publish the node created date and the published state schedule date should be the same i.e on state change to published we have to update the node creation date to published state date.
