I've tagged one of my views with "workbench" in order to get the sections exposed filter to show up, but once tagged with workbench all of the content that's not under workbench_access has disappeared from the listing. I'd still like to be able to see all my other content in this list, but also be able to filter by specific section.

I'd be okay with that if I can get some traction on #1437972: Replace exposed filter via Workflow tag "magic" with an actual views filter :)

I think it makes sense to exclude content types that aren't controlled by workbench_access once a filter is applied, but before any values are entered in the filter, the view results should include those content types.

I started work on a patch, but then I realized that this includes the content types that aren't controlled by workbench_access even when a filter is applied, which should not happen. I'm posting it here anyway if anyone wants to test or work on it.
