Would it be possible using Webcam Trigger to assign new roles to an user?
I.e. the user shows a promotion image on webcam to get one another new role.. That would be very useful

Sure. The main module is basically a trigger. A small custom module could implement the action (assign role) and it can be added to the trigger. I'm not sure, but maybe it's possible also with the Rules (http://drupal.org/project/rules) module without writing any code.

sorry for re-opening the issue- I have recently re-installed the webcam trigger module so I will give it a new try...

I have the Auto Assign Role module installed. What I want to do with the webcam trigger is that an user logging in via webcam trigger showing i.e. a bonus-card to webcam gets an extra role after having been logged in. But I still didn't figure it out how to make this works. It would be very kind of you if you could specify how to manage this.

I believe that webcam trigger module could be useful for i.e. giving "important" users cards look-alike the pdf image (drupalicon in your sample) and when the users log in they get an extra role and in this way I can easily give those users more access to things.
