I think I have most everything figured out, except ...
When I open the WebCalendar, I get

You must reconfigure your php.ini file to have magic_quotes_gpc set to ON.

But in my root/etc directory, php.ini does indeed have magic_quotes_gpc set to ON.

I have WebCalendar 1.0.5 (there is a 1.2.b1, but I saw no 1.1.x on the Sourceforge site)
and Webcal 5.x.1.0-beta1

Title: magic_quotes_gpc REALLY IS on » Error executing query

I made some progress - I discovered that despite what the php.ini file in my .\etc directory said, the magic quotes were turned OFF by the hoster. So I turned them on.
I also found v1.1.6 and installed that.
Now I get a rather unhelpful:

Error
Error executing query

Any idea where I can track down more information?
