Drupal Vue Admin

This project is not covered by Drupal’s security advisory policy.

Drupal Vue Admin is a modern administration theme for Drupal 11 built to support application-style Vue 3 interfaces without replacing Drupal's native rendering system.

It works together with the companion Drupal Vue Admin Platform module. Normal Drupal and contributed-module administration pages continue to render through Drupal/Twig, while explicitly registered application pages can use Vue-native interfaces.

Features

  • Vue 3 application interfaces integrated into Drupal administration.
  • Support for Drupal core Navigation.
  • Support for Toolbar-based administration.
  • Classic Drupal/Twig pages remain fully available.
  • Opt-in Vue-native pages rather than full replacement of Drupal rendering.
  • Responsive administration shell and mobile navigation behavior.
  • Accessible dialog, drawer, and focus-management patterns.
  • Classic fallback when Vue is disabled, unavailable, or fails to load.
  • No Node.js requirement on production sites.

Post-installation

Install and enable the companion Drupal Vue Admin Platform module, then install this theme and select Drupal Vue Admin as the site's administration theme.

Vue-native pages registered through the platform are rendered using the Vue application layer. All other administration pages continue to use Drupal's normal rendering path.

Additional requirements

  • Drupal 11.4 or later.
  • PHP 8.3 or later.
  • Drupal Vue Admin Platform.

Architecture

The theme provides the presentation and adapter layer for Drupal administration. Drupal remains authoritative for routing, permissions, access control, entities, Form API, backend services, and classic rendering.

The theme supports both Drupal core Navigation and Toolbar modes and is designed so that contributed-module pages continue to work without being rewritten in Vue.

Current status

This project is currently in alpha. APIs and adapter behavior may change before a stable release.

The current implementation uses Drupal's Default Admin theme as its base adapter, which is still experimental in Drupal core.

This project does not currently claim Drupal Security Advisory coverage.
