I am testing this patch in Drupal 9.2.7. Receiving a few errors.

  1. File cache directory either cannot be created or is not writable.
  2. The following error appears on cache rebuild and when viewing a node with the views_xml_backend:
Error: Call to undefined function file_scan_directory() in views_xml_backend_cron() (line 25 of /code/web/modules/views_xml_backend/views_xml_backend.module)

Update on above error – Error on cron run prevents cron from completing.

If you need any further testing, I'd be glad to try an updated patch!

The "File cache directory either cannot be created or is not writable." was the result of me not using the correct variable name when updating that part of the code. Fixing this revealed another deprecated function in need of replacement, which is now replaced.

Cron will now run - missed a deprecated function replacement there, and that's been replaced.

The update in #4 is working without any errors.

Hello, the possibility of being the maintainer of the module is open, if any of you feel capable, it would be good to become so, because I have seen the MR for 3 months and there is no one to take charge.
