"I did everything right but it does not show up"

Had this on a views display and debugged it.

How to fix:
* Open pane display "argument input" and re-save

How did that happen?
* Create more than one contextual filter
* add context argument input for all of them
* delete contextual filters save one

Interesting.
Should we do anything about this?

I had the same problem.

In the text of the module:
"Configure the "argument mode" of the views display as e.g. "node > content id", or something else depending which entity type you want this to work with.

You probably want to use the argument in the "contextual filters" section of the views display, to filter the content shown in the view, but you don't absolutely need to."

but if I put nothing in the contextual filters then "argument input" is emty; and the content pane don't not show up in DS.

but you don't absolutely need to.

I'm not really sure if this statement is accurate. But even if not, what is the use case where you don't use the argument? Can't you solve this in a different way then?

I would say this is not really what views_content_ds is designed for. But if you can describe what you want to do and why, maybe I change my mind - or I can give you a hint how to do it differently.

yes you are right. My method of approach was the problem.
First I create a view with no arguments, and wanted to 'pick up' this view as a field in DS, and see if that worked. The view itself was making some results, so for testing, I had the arguments not yet completed.

I did so because the explicit explanation was that arguments was not necessary, so I thought to do that later. I started looking at what I did wrong. but I did nothing wrong. The text that arguments are not necessary is not correct. That should read 'arguments are necessary. "

When I removed the arguments the field in DS is also gone. I can reliable reproduce it.

you are right a view without arguments don't make sens a lot.

Don Qui Xote,

I am using Views Content DS. I tried before EVA bud EVA don't work with the option 'to block'. This module does (!).

I experience a problem; i can see the views-pane show up in the DS layout. But not in the DS layout in a "Field collections" (where I want to use it :-P ).

Any idea?
