I installed Views last week and created several new views at the time. Today I have attempted to create a new view but it will not show up in the list of views, nor will the block associated with the view show up in my Blocks admin page. I checked and I do have my admin user set to be able to view and administer all Views. Does anyone have a suggestion what could be the issue? My new view is called index_substory_view, is there any chance using the word index could create a problem?

Are there any error messages? Anything in the php logs?

Did you click "Save" on the new view? When you create a new view (or edit a view) they are working copies until you click the Save button. For new views, they won't appear anywhere except where you were editing them, so you may need to go back in your browser history. You can often access the working copy directly by visiting admin/build/views/edit/VIEWNAME where VIEWNAME is the name you provided for the view.

Views that have changes that are not yet stored are indicated by a lock icon and the text "New" or "Changed" in the upper right corner.

That appears to have been the problem. I actually think something was wrong with the way the page loaded before, because where I thought the "save" and "cancel" buttons should have been, there were two buttons that said "remove display" like at the top of a Block view. I just thought I must have remembered how it worked from before improperly, but when I just went back to the edit link (the view I had been working on was still available via that link) the button had changed to "Save" and I was able to save it.

Thank you.
