In the fields section of the views module, can you make it so terms of a vocabularly can be sorted?
So like vocab: genre
Has: action, drama, fantasy, etc. It can be sorted in the table (or w/e view you have) alphabetically, just like any other regular field (ie, node title).

Also, how does the views module grab fields to be listed? I need to add an attribute like a link to my nodes that can be displayed by the views module in the table. That way theres a quick link in the table view in relevance to the node. This link in my case would be external, giving more information about the node topic.

For instance, another field I'd want to be viewed is the ratings from the nodevote module.

Wonderful wonderful feature requests.

For the latter part, get the newest version of Views and look at the theme wizard -- that might help you do more customization of the individual fields Views displays. If you're lucky, anyway.

Sorting of taxonomies - something I've been asked for on sites - so - adding this comment to track this issue.

I must be misunderstanding this somehow.

If you look at the attached image - the last five fields are taxonomy fields - and are still not sortable.

If you are using the "Taxonomy: Term" field, it will be sortable. If you are using the "Taxonomy: All Terms" field, it cannot be sortable.

Ok - understood. I'll have to see if there is another way round - to sort a column where each row has max one term per taxonomy column (can't see that I can limit Taxonomy Term to a given vocabulary).

I have a content type that is classified by 3 vocabularies.

The Taxonomy Term field just seems to pick out 1 term from the first vocabulary. How can I sort by the terms from the other vocabularies? Adding the "All Terms" field, I can at least pick which vocabulary I want, but not using the "Term" field.

So I don't think this is fixed...

At this time you can't. You're better off using multi-select CCK fields for stuff like this.

It's not multi-select. Each of the vocabularies is single-select. I just happen to have 3 different ways to classify these nodes (they are proposed drupal camp sessions, classified by level/audience, subject area, and which camp they belong to).

I don't want to make them CCK fields. Maintaining the taxonomy in the Taxonomy section of the site is much much much easier than editing the allowed values for a CCK field.

It would just be nice if you could sort a view by taxonomy, if the vocabulary is single-select.
