Does anyone know if it's possible to theme a view from a module. i.e. if your module includes a default view, you might also want to provide a default template that gets used? I was considering using the theme_registry_alter hook, but as discussed by Sam Dark it doesn't seem to work (or perhaps its set different there?).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Additional there might be prepared a patch.
