I am trying to set cookies within the header of a view using php

the problem is when I set them they show up in firefox once then disappear again

example cookie

setcookie('member','true','0','/');

I think this is an issue with the views module because I can set cookies okay on other pages

Perhaps you have set up views caching?

caching is set to none

I am trying now to implement cookies with javascript output from a php footer to the view as they are persisting.

If the php is executed the code should work. This is not a specific issue of views.
