Hi,

I have been searching for answer without luck so I decided to post my question here.

I am using CCK and am using Views filters (expose option) to create search pages. Right now, I need to create different fields for title search, content search, taxonomy search etc. I am wondering if it is possible to combine multiple filters into just one. For example, instead of having the users to type into "Search in Title" field and "Search in Content" field to search for a keyword, I would like to have just one field, such as "Search in Title and Content", so that the users only need to type once in one field. Another option is to set a single "Search in Content" field and add a check box right next to it that says "Search in Titles also."

Has anyone done something similar before? Thanks for your help =)

You could write your own filter handler, which add both the cck field and the title field to the query.
I don't think that's possible without coding, but it's definitve possible with coding, but not easy.

As alternative try to use the core search filter. The search module indexes the title and the cck field, if displayed, so the filter will perhaps find them.

Hi dereine,

Thanks.
Hope the next version will be able to do that but right now I guess I will have to beg the users to type in as many times as they need to =]
Have a great week!! (^^)

I want to do the exact same thing! I'd like the users to be able to type in ONE text box and find information across multiple fields. I've been trying to find a solution for days now.

There is definitive not an easy solution and I doubt, that this will be in views 3.x if noone post a patch :)

Thats perhaps a good thing for a contrib module.
