Fatal error: Call to a member function override_option() on a non-object in /home/content/92/4514392/html/modules/views/modules/comment.views_default.inc on line 22
I've installed Drupal 6.12 and am getting the above error when I add the Views module. Initially i got the error when I added the Views module and navigated to Administer-->Site Building-->Modules in my admin area. When i removed the Views module from my server I was able to see all my selected modules again.
So i decided to do a fresh install of drupal 6.12 and uninstalled and removed all files associated with the first install and reinstalled 6.12 onto my server. I then added the Views module. Once I did this I navigated to Administer-->Site Building-->Modules and did not get the above error but when I activated the Views module and tried to save the configuration I got the same Fatal Error I had gotten all along.
I found an issue report from cinquetooty - April 16, 2009 - 11:53 about the same issue and he did a fresh install of Drupal 6.10 and it fixed his problem but it doesn't seem to be working for me. merlinofchaos also suggested in the same post that "Usually the error you got indicates that the plugins directory didn't get installed properly."
I'm not sure what I'm missing here but I am fairly new to drupal and PHP and would like to use the Views module but am not sure how to fix the fatal error in comment.views_default.inc file. As far as i can tell cinquetooty and I are the only ones who have reported anything like this. Any suggestions?

merlinofchaos commentedThis error means that it can't load the default plugin code.
Make sure that views/plugins/views_plugin_display.inc and views/plugins/views_plugin_display_default.inc exist and are readable. Every one who has ever solved this problem has found that to be the issue.
