Hi there,

Yes, you can do this by using views "exposed filters".

1. Open up your view
2. Add a filter by clicking on the '+' next to filters
3. Select the CCK field and any other fields you wish to create a custom search on
4. Set up the rules you wish to have for the filter
5. Click 'expose' in the top right of that box
6. 'Update' then 'Save' your view

You should now have a text box, select list, or whatever you chose in the expose section and it displays at the top of the view. Alternatively, you can click "exposed form in block" in the left column, and the exposed filters (your search boxes) will show up in a block that you can place in any region of your site.
