I have a view with various user and profile fields. One of the profile fields is 'about' and can vary in length. I'm creating a featured profile view, and would like to limit the amount of words or characters in the 'about' field to a defined length. How would I do this?

The only way to accomplish this would be to create a theme template for that field (see theme: information for a list of candidate templates) and do some PHP work at the theme level to limit the length of the field.
