im using
Drupal 5.7
postgre
Apache Server

i was train to do a summary by Year using a Date filed as argument in a views.
ej:

Content: Visit
Fields: visit_name :Text , visit_date:Date
views: Argument Type : Date (), summary by year, using visit_date as field.

and this is the result:

    * warning: pg_query() [function.pg-query]: Query failed: ERROR: function pg_catalog.date_part("unknown", text) does not exist HINT: No function matches the given name and argument types. You may need to add explicit type casts. in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\dri\includes\database.pgsql.inc on line 125.
    * user warning: query: SELECT count(DISTINCT(EXTRACT(YEAR FROM( REPLACE(node_data_field_fecha_atencion.field_fecha_atencion_value,'T',' '))))) FROM (SELECT DISTINCT ON (nid) * FROM node) node LEFT JOIN content_type_atencion node_data_field_fecha_atencion ON node.vid = node_data_field_fecha_atencion.vid WHERE (node.type IN ('atencion')) in C:\Program Files\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\dri\includes\database.pgsql.inc on line 145.

however the same thing work perfectly using mysql + Drupal

i was trying to figure out the reason and i think that is when the module view build the query whit the arguments. this happen in views_query.inc file

i hope this information could be useful.
