Help! Could you help me with a simple example of how I can pass a parameter to a View that contains the Location of the user so that I can filter the data shown in the View to just show data based on his/her location?

If there is a tutorial available, I'd be most appreciative.

Not exists this feature natively, but you can use the projects: Smart IP and geoPlugin for it.
