We update from rc2 to rc3.
when we did our site broke.
we then had narrowed it down to the views rewrite results on Fields with the Override the output of this field with custom text checked.
the two views we have override the output with external links provided from a different field.
one view is from content the other is an aggregator.
when the option is unchecked the site works, but is no longer looks the way we wanted.
the drupal report logs show nothing, the browser network tab show a 500 error, and our error logs show

[error] 20027#0: *912 FastCGI sent in stderr: "PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Invalid placeholder: !message in {{file_path}}/core/lib/Drupal/Component/Render/FormattableMarkup.php on line 240" while reading response header from upstream, client: xxx.xxx.xx.x, server: {{server_name}}, request: "GET /news/test HTTP/1.1", upstream: "fastcgi://unix:/var/run/php5-fpm.sock:", host: "{{host_name}}"

Another thing that we noticed is that is seems affect us when the Administrator is logged in.
Anons and non-Administrtor Role users seem to have a working site with the override on.

I noticed the same error on a site that was upgraded from RC2 to RC3. This might be related or caused by Devel. In 2609344 dawehner mentioned to check if the Devel module is enabled. Uninstalling it seems to help.

Status: Active » Closed (works as designed)

The problem did turn out to be devel.
After updating the devel to its latest commit everything started to work.
