I'm trying to create a simple random image thumbnail generator using views. Initially I looked for image field types but when I found none I tried changing the style to unformatted with a node row style which, when I filter the node type to image, enables me to display the image node teaser. The only problem is that the teaser includes the title, publishing info and gallery name where I just want the thumbnail. Does anyone know a better way to select the content of the block?

Views doesn't have any inherent handling of images; previously, things like image.module gave its info to Views so it could do that; but given how new all of this is, I doubt whatever module you're doing to handle images is fully integrated with Views yet. You'll need to take that up with whatever module you're using for image support.

I'm using the image module (version 6.x-1.0-alpha1) and was hoping it would provide image fields in views but that doesn't seem to be the case despite earlier versions appearing to have this functionality.

Views 2 is still in alpha; few modules not named CCK have had authors brave enough to integrate into the new system.

Thanks for the info, I assume there isn't a version of Views 1 that works in D6?
