pager override

i asked this on another issue but that was before i noticed it was a closed issue. I have tried several different ways to override multiple pagers differently but i cannot seem to point to either one directly with the code that i am using.

this manipulates all mini pagers but i only want this on one as this limits the pager display to 9. the other pager max is 5 and i want to make sure that is displayer correctly.

i have tried using the id of the pager and tried the id of the pager including the block but neither one seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?

i have tried all of these with no progress towards what i need.
