Like many others in the past, I want to remove views menu tabs for all content types except one.

I tried to fiddle with the "Argument", but no success.

Before trying harder, I'd like to know if this solution applies to my problem.

The view lists nodes of type "oranges", and I want to show the menu pointing to this view only when I view a node of type "apples".

Is it possible ?

Yes, I've seen this.

When I set the argument validator to "apples", I only see the tab on my "apples" node.

But when I click on the tab, I receive an empty list.

Do you confirm that setting the argument validator to "apples" and the filter to "oranges" should work ?

You possibly want to use the Global: NULL argument because I don't think you actually want the argument to affect your query, at least from your somewhat terse description.

Sorry for my terse description. I suppose you'll feel better if I tell you I can't understand your answer. You won the terseness battle.

As for my problem, it is now solved by yet another module patch.
