Pager output showing where it shouldn't

I created a block view that is used to display recent content according to a tag. That part works fine.

This issue is that when I begin using a pager it should a duplicate full pager under the content region. Please see the screenshot. In the block region, is shows the mini pager that I have set for the theme. There is a hidden element being that is produced in the output along with the pager bar:

I've looked at all configurations for the view and have tried to change just about anything but I can't get it to disappear. I should add that its only on the front page that this happens. I have other pages created by Views where I show the same block but don't have the pager under the content region.
