i have 2 content types with it's own paths
item1: custom contenttype: cottage (url alias = /cottage/
item2: custom contenttype: webform (webforms project)

when i create a view with path node/% both my content types cottage and webform are displayed in the view.
in the filter criteria i have a filter "content type = cottage" but still both contenttypes a displayed with the view

Please run the analyse one. It tells you that you shouldn't override node/%

Better use panels or templates or display suite to adapt the view of a single node.
