I'm trying to edit an existing View (using FireFox v2.0.0.1) and whenever I try to edit a field with an FCKeditor (such as Header, for example) I find that the field will not accept any keyboard input.
FCKeditor fields are working fine throughout the rest of Drupal but not in the Views module so it seems to be a combination of FCKeditor and Views that causes the problem. If I disable FCKeditor then the regular text fields in Views work just fine.
This is a new Drupal 5.0 rc1 install using FCKeditor v5.x-1.1 and Views. I've never used Drupal before so it's possible I've done something stupid although everything else seems to be working pretty well.

ontwerpwerk commentedYou can work around it easily by using the popup mode of FCKeditor or by adding
*page_*, *block_*to the exclusions settings of the FCKeditor to disable RTE for the views configuration.Unfortunately the FCKeditor does not play nice with all the collapsing fieldsets and does not work for any version of views that I know of.
I certainly would advise against modifying views to become compatible in this case and modifying FCKeditor is not a priority because I feel that managing views is not in the daily workflow of users who benefit most from an RTE. A site admin who does manage views usually is HTML savvy.

atompkins commentedOk thanks. That makes sense.

ontwerpwerk commentedI just noticed, if you have the code button on your toolbar in fckeditor you can click the code button twice to make the fckeditor field get focus and become editable.
There are two workarounds now, and I don't think this is important enough for day to day use of a site (who edits views in a production site) so I'm marking this won't fix
