If field Taxonomy: All Terms for then only the terms for which nodes has been published is shown. Also if some of the nodes node is associated with other terms theese are shown as well.

My intuition says that Field: All Terms for should display all terms in that vocabulary i.e. lookup and list all the terms i term_data table with a special vid -

instead it seems to look up all nodes in that vocab and only list the terms of the published nodes and if the node has severals terms in the same vocab list those on the same line like this

Books | Papers | Gifts
Gifts
and so on...

I was hoping that views was gonna provide me with a listing of all terms as links instead of providing crossreference.

Taxonomy: All Terms provides every term that is associated with the node in that record. It provides a link to taxonomy/term/TID which is the standard Drupal behavior for a term.

I don't quite understand what your intuition is telling you, but by being 'All Terms' it's ignoring vocabulary, so you're way, way off base.

Unfortunately, I really don't actually understand what you're trying to say, due to a combination of poor grammar.

Note that when you select Taxonomy: All Terms and put it into a view, you are given this help text:

"This will display all taxonomy terms associated with the node."

*cough* 'combination of' was meant to be deleted from that sentence when I decided it wasn't a combination of things.
