Problem/Motivation

Two views shipped by this recipe declare the metatag_display_extender display extender on their page_1 display:

  • config/views.view.content.yml
  • config/views.view.user_admin_people.yml

In both cases the stanza is empty:

display_extenders:
  metatag_display_extender:
    metatags: {  }
    tokenize: false

No metatags are set. Both views are administrative listings — /admin/content and /admin/people — which are behind access control, are never indexed, and have no SEO purpose. The stanza looks like export noise from a site that happened to have metatag_views enabled at export time.

It is not harmless. The extender is provided by the metatag_views submodule of drupal/metatag, and this recipe does not require drupal/metatag at all. On a Varbase install the install profile enables the submodule and the gap is hidden. On a Drupal CMS base nothing does, and building either view fatals:

Drupal\Component\Plugin\Exception\PluginNotFoundException:
The "metatag_display_extender" plugin does not exist.
Valid plugin IDs for Drupal\views\Plugin\ViewsPluginManager are: default

Steps to reproduce

  1. Build a Drupal CMS 2.x site on Drupal core 11.4.5 with a Varbase site template (tested with drupal/educare:1.0.x-dev).
  2. Install it. Building either shipped view fatals with the exception above.

Proposed resolution

Remove the display_extenders stanza from the page_1 display of both configs. The setting carries no data, so nothing is lost, and the recipe stops depending on a module it does not require.

This is the narrower alternative to installing metatag_views for every Varbase site (#3620423, already merged into varbase_seo_base). That change stays in place for views that genuinely want metatags; this one removes the requirement from two admin listings that do not.
