Give User Points to yourself?

On the user page (eg user/5 when I'm logged in as user 5) I can see a link to give user points - however, this links tries to give userpoints to myself ie user 5 giving user 5 points - I don't think this is how it's supposed to work! Or have I done something wrong?

BTW - I can't give userpoints at all - it doesn't work for my site
