Userplus has disabled a bunch of groups for me, as the siteadmin, even though I'm listed as the author on them. If I go through and simply update the group doing nothing but re-saving it, it subscribes me back into that group, so that's not a problem. But it still leaves the field as disabled, which makes me think something, somewhere may still be in error.
I admit I manually edited the is_admin field in the og_uid table (mistakenly thinking I knew what I was doing) and that may have caused this. I was listed as the admin for all of these groups. Then after I added a bunch of users, I went it and updated their is_admin from 0 to 1. The groups I did that for are the ones giving me grief now. I re-subscribed, and I thought everything was good, but before long I noticed I no longer was subscribed to those groups. The users I had changed in the og_uid table - I deleted them (using Drupal's user mgmt), but it still left the fields disabled for me in userplus. Should I start over from scratch, creating new groups and new users again?
Any ideas?

marcp commentedYes ... start over from scratch. Also, check the Organic Groups issue queue to see what happens when the creator of a group gets deleted -- that could be an issue for you also.

cindyr commentedI think I figured it out. I removed my users, removed my organic groups, and as I create them again I'm having the same "disabled" field in the Userplus screen. This is due to your new release of it (http://drupal.org/node/167157), isn't it marcp? As long as I don't change the name of the author on the page, all is well. If I do change the name of the author to someone else, then it leaves the field disabled in the Userplus screen, but removes my checkmark, so I can no longer re-subscribe to it via Userplus, but I can change my name back as the author again.

marcp commentedcindy - i think the manager of the Organic Group is supposed to stay the manager of the group. The new version of Userplus greys out the checkbox for the manager (the owner of the node) so that you can't unsubscribe that person.
I know that there has been discussion over in Organic Groups land about this, but I am not up on it at all.

zach harkey commentedThis is a critical bug. It effectively locks you out of your own house. I see the value in disabling the checkboxes for the group manager, as long as they are disabled in the checked state. It seems that any submission from the page 'admin/user/userplus/usergroups' will trigger this lockout effect.

zach harkey commentedCommenting out line 527 is an easy temporary — even if it does allow you to uncheck the manager.
// $checked = is_array($users_groups[$uid]) ? in_array($nid, $users_groups[$uid]) : FALSE;Comment #6

Disregard last post. What I meant was:
comment out line 528:
// $disabled = $group_owners[$nid] == $uid;Comment #7
marcp commentedZach - are you saying that, on a fresh installation of OG and Userplus that it's possible to lock yourself out of your own house? I agree that if it's already messed up and the group owner is not in the og_uid table that there's a problem, but there should be no way to get into that state.
Could you please elaborate?
Thanks,
Marc

dmwirth commentedI used userplus to create multiple users and the new users that I created do not get a "My Blog" link to show up in the Navigation Block.
Any suggestions

marcp commentedThis issue addresses a different problem.
Please create a new Userplus issue after confirming that this only happens for users whose accounts are created using Userplus. From your post here -- http://drupal.org/node/200306 -- it looks like this happens for you even when you add users via "Add User" so I don't think it is a Userplus issue.
Please disable the Userplus module and add some more users. If any of them doesn't get the "My Blog" link then this isn't a Userplus issue. I suspect it's related to roles. You seem to have ruled that out in your other issue, but it would be worth a long hard look again. If you are using any node access modules, you'll want to disable them also.

dmwirth commentedIt is not a Userplus issue. I figured it is an issue with usernames with spaces. I did usernames like this "Firstname Lastname" so that they would display that way. I now see there might have been a better way to do that by creating a "realname" field then have that display.
So what to do now? is there a way that I can assign the path for a user's blog? for example each user does have a blog, but the path is "Firstname-Lastname".

marcp commentedsounds like maybe you are using pathauto to come up with the URLs. i'm not well-versed in pathauto so you may be able to get some more help in that area.

ejort commentedThis seems to have been misfiled at some point (this has nothing to do with the "User Related Content" project). Putting back to last assigned project.
