Purpose

To promote collaboration between user groups and events in the US Central Timezone, by providing shared program opportunities, ideas, and coordinating event and meeting schedules. The primary goal is to encourage the development and growth of local user groups.

Background and Plan

Starting in August of 2025 and inspired by some activity in the Eastern and Western timezones, Drupal event organizers in the US Central timezone began planning a quarterly Zoom meetup hybrid with multiple in-person meetups. We are loosely organized and communicating on an as-needed basis in the Drupal Slack #us-central-timezone.

The concept is to provide a date, time, and programming that local meetups can rally around. Each local meetup would meet in-person before and/or after the Zoom. Hopefully, this helps motivate some inactive meetups' would-be organizers to gather their local community and helps take some planning off the shoulders of meetup organizers.
