support file attachment access control

I'd like to see Drupla implement a mechanism to support access control for the file attachments. Specifically, file attachments are part of a content node. As such, the same access permission applied to the node should be equally applied to its attachments. Right now it seems as of Drupal 4.6.3, all file attachments are globally viewable regardless of the containing's nodes' access permission. This seems to be a very desirable feature asked by a lot of folks.

BTW, not sure if this is the right project to post such feature request.
