Give the translators a hint and ~48h or ~76h time to complete the latest translation, please.
I saw dww have done some love to the text and i think this nicer text should be backported, but this requires another time text corrections and this takes time. So please don't release blind with incomplete translations - if we'd like to translate.

dwwAgreed. 5.x-2.0 final will be at least 1 or 2 weeks away, with more string changes to come. you can count on that. furthermore, i'll make another rc release before we're ready to call it final, and i'll email the translations list with an FYI about it, then give people a few days to do a translation if they want.

dwwBump. 5.x-2.0-rc2 is out. The 5.x-2.0 string freeze is here. 5.x-2.0 final will be out at the end of this week, so update now if you want.

meba commentedI am willing to create Czech translation...I will complete it today

meba commentedWell, i believe this is related to translations, so can somebody summarize what this string means: "This works in conjunction with the %notification_threshold setting, so the site will only send e-mails for available updates that are considered an error". Not in english, but it's meaning. What does it mean "an update is considered an error"? Thanks, i can't translate whole module without it :)
dww@meba -- oh, crap, good point. :( That string shouldn't be there. That was one of the usability enhancements that made it into core that I missed when doing the 5.x-2.0-rc2 release. Drat.
Luckily, only 1 translation already happened (http://drupal.org/node/165491) for 5.x-2.0-rc2, so I just committed the changes to rip out the convoluted help text and replaced it with the more simple version from core. I regenerated update_status.pot at the same time, and committed to both HEAD and DRUPAL-5--2.
So, please just grab the latest update_status.pot from CVS and resume your translation, and you should find that crazy string no longer there. ;)
Cheers,
-Derek

vikingew commentedI am not native english but good enough in it to understand it must be a confusing sentence even for a native :-) I would rephrase to something like this:
"This works in conjunction with the %notification_threshold setting, so the site will only send e-mails for available updates conforming to it."
I this the word "error" is an orphan from the old name of this setting, which was "error threshold" or something. In clear what it mean is that there might be an update available BUT because of the setting this update wont apply and hence no email is sent. There might be a better base word then conform to use here, but it's not an error really which is the reason the name changed.
I hope that helps you meba - ahoj!

hass commentedWe shouldn't change strings another time nor start another big discussion about how the strings should sound or not :-).
Please take a look into the update.module case for core and see the long discussion about this part... so - for update_status 2.x we should only backport the final 6.x strings from core!

vikingew commentedI thought of being of some help here and provide a swedish translation as it seem lacking. However, there seem to be something I don't understand and it's how to handle the .POT file. I have poEdit for win and the only thing I see related to .POT is to create a "New catalog from .POT file", but when I try that with the file from CVS it just gives me zero of everything so I must be missing something or the .pot file is corrupt?
vikingew commentedforget it, somehow I got a bunch of html when downloaded, have got the correct one now.

meba commentedAhoj! :-)
I just finished translating into Czech, i figured out what that sentence means by myself. But i will download new version and update it now...

meba commentedAttached Czech translation to: http://drupal.org/node/165630

dww@meba: committed, thanks.
@yettyn: yes, sorry, that string changed -- it's much more simple now.
@hass: agreed. that's what i was trying to do at http://drupal.org/node/155483 but missed this one.

hass commentedShouldn't this two strings not the same?

dwwWhoops, yeah, probably. :( Committed the change to DRUPAL-5--2 and updated the update_status.pot file again. Since this is just removing a string from the template, it doesn't break the cs.po and it.po that are already done. See http://drupal.org/node/165685 about fixing this in core.

dwwThanks to everyong who worked on adding or updating translations. The official 5.x-2.0 release is now out. ;)
