University - Drupal 8University is a Drupal 8 distribution for universities and colleges, maintained by Frontkom.

Drupal for Universities

The goal of the Drupal University distribution is to provide a fully working Drupal site, with the main features a university or college will need. Choosing Drupal for universities is a well tested setup used all over the world. The distribution delivers a starter theme, content types and structure needed for most universities.

Installation

Installation can be done using composer to get the latest codebase:
composer create-project --stability dev --no-interaction front/university-project your-project-name
Requires Composer v1.8.5 or later.

1. Run composer command above
2. Go through the Drupal installer
3. In the modules list(/admin/modules) activate "University article" module
4. In the modules list activate "University page" module

Current status

Dev release of the distro is available through composer.

Current known issues

  • Search setup is not implemented
  • Demo content is not implemented yet
  • Study program content type is broken

Note

There will be no update paths for the current dev releases so don't use the distro for real content unless you want to use the distro as a starter pack only. A specific date for when update paths are included is not set yet.
