I'm trying to implement a field to get a users height in 4'11" format.
I have installed cck, mvf, units, format_number, and formatted number.
I setup the field but it doesn't seem to do what I want. :/
When creating the field I selected measured value for data to be stored and values and unit for the form element to enter the data as I have no other options.
On the next page in the field creation process. I left defaults for short name, single value display mode, range display mode, and decimals display mode. Under available units there are no unit types, and when I go to the units config page there's just some text and a save button. I left the rest of the field creation process form at default settings so I could see what it would do. These settings, plus no option to select available units gives me a text field, with a drop down list with just "--" as an option.
I'm looking to create a single value created by either a text field or drop down then ' and the another text field or drop down with ". The idea is I would like the height to be sortable eventually.
I posted on CCK issue list explaining I was looking to do this an they pointed me to mvf and units.

crea commentedHave you read project page carefully ? You need module implementing unit type - Units module only provides API, not units themselves. You will need to implement your own hook_define_units() or use UnitsAPI integration. Besides, what you describe won't work with this module out of the box cause custom formatter will be needed to output it as 4'11".
