Is there any way to link the order invoice to its related node so that you can see the full order from the node view, and ideally also the edit page?
It could be in a block that is linked with an argument if there were some way to grab the order ID from the node. A node alias might work, but I don't know which token to use for the pathauto. That also would not work on the edit page.

Right now I am using Views and Views Field View to create an editable node that contains a view of the invoice. It works pretty well but there are certain things like Rules and Content Locking that are not functioning from a view.

The reason for my request is that I want CCK fields and flags from the Flag module attached to the order that can be edited as the order is being processed (name of order handler, order tasks that are being checked off, flag for admin attention, etc)
I need to be able to lock the order instantly and/or assign the handler's name to the order so that other users cannot work on the same order.
I realize that you can edit the node content from the order itself, but for display purposes I want to expose the rendered invoice in a small region for viewing while being able to edit the relevant fields on the related node. The order edit page is too bulky.

If I'm understanding correctly, your best bet is probably to override the invoice template. uc_order_node provides a function for displaying the node information in the order interface (uc_order_node_view), which may be helpful (it's basically just a wrapper for node_view()).

Not sure if that would work for your purposes... sounds pretty complicated with the Views and all.
