For a project, I needed to use a Views argument for hashtag - so needed to add the hashtag for twitter_entity entities as a field. Attached patch implements storing hashtags as entity references to terms in a vocabulary named 'twitter_hashtags'.

It's probably better just setting taxonomy as a dependency and moving the vocabulary config to config/install - updated patch attached.
