Now that #3010055: Multiple Event Triggers has been commited, Rules Essentials now blocks the ability to add multiple events. After uninstalling Rules Essentials, I can add multiple events again.

Or perhaps something has changed later which is conflicting with this module. This can be reproduced with the latest dev of Rules.

The multi-event stuff and a number of other things were moved into Rules after they had been tested out here. I know I have to do some cleanup of Rules Essentials now to remove the things that are no longer needed here. I suggest you go to the Rules settings at /admin/config/workflow/rules/settings turn off the Rules Essentials UI and use the default Rules UI for now - that way you can still use any events/conditions/actions/examples defined by RE.
