When developing for this module it would be nice to have a ddev setup. https://github.com/ddev/ddev-drupal-contrib makes this really easy. This way the module can be develop in isolation and all pipeline jobs like phpcs or phpunit can also be run locally with the correct versions. Linking into an existing Drupal instance during development is not always ideal since you get project specific settings. With ddev you can have a clean slate and also easily switch between Drupal versions.
