thickbox does not display photos with filename containing '

If a photo filename contains a ' sign, the photo is not displayed in thickbox. The cck node does display the photo, the thumbnail on which the thickbox should work is also displayed. if the filename is changed with the ' sign removed and the file is uploaded again, it displays normally in thickbox.
