Great work !

it's almost what I'm looking for.

The only issue I have is there is no way to add new terms (unlike in the standard autocomplete taging comming with drupal 7).

We can type unexisting terms in the input field, but they are not saved into the vocabulary.

It would be great to add a configuration option to do that (one check box per field using this widget)

Hoping you'll add this feature request.

I really don't see this field widget as being capable of allowing free-tagging. For one, it's a selector, not a tagging widget. Second, this widget is geared towards working specifically with a hierarchical vocabulary, in which case there would be no way to add parent info if you just typed in a new tag.

Core provides a great tagging mechanism, but this module is strictly designed to be a term reference selector for (generally) large hierarchical vocabularies.
