The Temporal module allows tracking of changes in fields on nodes and users. It stores these changes only on the fields tracked so that minimal storage is required to reconstruct the history of those changes over time.

It also allows the entry of value changes in the future so that they happen on the date specified. This allows the publishing of content or value changes for users or nodes to be scheduled or staged. There are plans to also allow callbacks on the future value changes so that custom logic can determine when the change should be applied instead of a static date.

The module is in a working and stable state, but needs some further D8 love as it was written early in my transition from D7 coding.
Plans to fully split tracking per entity type instead of a single hybrid table for example.
