Tabbed Two-Level Select

Description

Provides an alternative, user friendly interface to multiple select input box for selected taxonomies on node creation.

Designed specifically for 2-tier hierarchical classification systems, the module creates tabs for the root elements. Each tab contains the corresponding children, which are click to select and click to remove. It also add an area to display the selected terms and ability to remove them without searching through the tabs for the undesired terms. The module will also allow you to target specific taxonomies to act on, while leaving other taxonomy interfaces unaltered.

If javascript is disabled, it will gracefully fall back to standard interface.

NOTE: Though it is mostly functional, this module is still in alpha development stages. Check it out from cvs if you are adventurous.

Modules With Similar Goals

The following modules also work to overcome usability issues with multiple select input boxes.

Hierarchical Select - This module will handle N-tier taxonomies/vocabularies with a series of select boxes to handle hierarchy, while Tabbed Two-Level Select's interface is useful only for 2-tier taxonomies/vocabularies.

Better Select - This module replaces all multiple select inputs with a scrollable list of checkboxes, but can be limited to node forms.
