I have installed (successfully) and configured the SWF Tools. However when trying to launch the page nothing is displayed.
I have tried using the SWFTools filter
<swf file="tester.swf">
and PHP code;
<?php print swf('so_tester.swf', array('height'=>100, 'width'=>400)); ?>

Stuart Greenfield commentedCan you be more specific about nothing is displayed - do you see the rest of the node? Or do you see nothing at all?
Do you have the page available on a public facing webserver, or can you paste a copy of the page source code to see what, if any, SWF Tools output is being generated.
In terms of the input filter, it might sound obvious, but you did enable the input filter, and make sure it as the bottom of the input filter list (full documentation here)?
Also, the PHP code you have pasted is incorrect for SWF Tools 6. Check the documentation for full details, and I've pasted a PHP snippet below too. Note that height and width hang off of params.

thks for your reply.

I see the node, and Drupal displays the message 'You are missing some Flash content that should appear here! Perhaps your browser cannot display it, or maybe it did not initialize correctly.'

It is on our companyserver . Check the page "dev.touringmobilis.be/test".

I did enable the input filter and included it as well to the 'full html' filter as well.

Stuart Greenfield commentedThe SWF Tools dev team is me, and it's something I do in my spare time, so I respond as best I can when I get time to do so.
The link you posted doesn't go to a webpage so I can't see the code that's being generated.
Can you post a source code listing for the page in question. You're seeing the "Flash could not be displayed" message so SWF Tools is trying to insert the code. I need to be able to see what the rest of the page code looks like to get an idea of what might be going on.
Changing title back to reflect original thread, and setting priority back to normal as there are no other reports of the module being fundamentally broken so it seems, for now, to be site specific.

elgwiedo commentedHi Stuart. Many thanks for posting. Did not know you are the guy behind.
This is the link ... http://dev.mytouringmobilis.be/test
Some additional information;
1/ I kept the mediafolder "files" which is below the www (root). There i copied the SWF anf FLV files. Launching the SWF directly does work.
2/ The test SWF inside SWF Tools Status is working.

Stuart Greenfield commentedOK, was able to see your test page now.
The source code has only the flash message, not the actual embedding script, so that means SWF Tools failed to find the file you specified. When this happens the module quits early as it knows the embedding is going to fail. That means your configuration settings are wrong. This is almost certainly the case as you seem to be storing files outside the normal Drupal files directory.
I tested accessing the swf directly and that works, so one option is to put the full swf path as the file, so [swf file="http://dev.mytouringmobilis.be/files/so_tester.swf" height="x" width="y"]. When SWF Tools sees a full url it skips the file check. However, it then can't work out height and width automatically so you'll need to give it.
If you don't want to use the full path then check that you have configured SWF Tools to look somewhere other than the default files directory. When you use [swf file="abc.swf"] then SWF Tools will interpret that as being in sites/defaults/files when it resolves the path unless you tell it otherwise.
The (easiest) option is to just place the media in the files directory and then you don't need any special settings. If you want to put it in a sub-folder you can use [swf file="subfolder/my.swf"]. Do that and SWF Tools should find the file automatically, and you get the benefit of auto height and width detection.

elgwiedo commentedHi Stuart.
I have put the file is the recommended folder. However when calling the file using [swf file="abc.swf"] it does NOT work. When using the full path it works. Can this be a PHP or Apache setting we have to look at ?
Thanks again.
