The problem is that when I refresh or go to another page with an flv file in it, the file either won't play and shows only a white box (JW4) or it plays but without the controls (Flowplayer). Using the generic player always works. Everything works in Firefox. IE7 & 8, though, have this problem. I'm using Flash 10, and the videos are encoded with Flash 7. I've tried using direct embedding and SWFObject 2, but it's the same results.
After doing some searching around, I found several pages that basically describe the same problem as mine. This is one of the first hits:
http://groups.google.com/group/swfobject/browse_thread/thread/c2fddcc3fc...
That seems to be the same problem because if I clear the cache everything works fine again for one page load. Also, since people (myself included) have this problem regardless of the player used, I figured going to the developer of the player wouldn't help much.
So, my question is am I doing something wrong? Or is the fix posted in the above link the necessary workaround? And if it is, how would I implement that within the SWF Tools module (I'm not a php programmer or anything, by the way)?
Thanks!

Stuart Greenfield commentedIs anyone else seeing this? I have tried it locally on IE7 (haven't installed IE8 yet), but on IE7 it is working. I tried SWF Object 2 with Wijering 4 and FlowPlayer, and everything seems to be ok!

iris_hbo commentedI had the same problem with IE7 and Flowplayer 3.1.3 - on refresh the video didn't appear anymore...
With Flowplayer 3.1.2 its working fine so far.
Anyone having an idea? Or having the same problem?

Stuart Greenfield commentedThis sounds like it is a duplicate of #576470: Major bug affecting IE6/7/8 and fixed in flowplayer-3.1.4.js needs to be incorporated in SWF Tools. It's something to do with the caching mechanism under IE6/7/8 and it affects the latest release of FlowPlayer. Fix being worked on!
