Image rotator wont suspend rotation when video is started ( MS IE only)

We have 4 images in nodes, one of which has a video file associated with it. all works well in FF, Chrome, Safari, but not in any version of MS IE.

Image rotation works properly but wont suspend when the video associated is started. Image rotation continues; the audio track remains audible; and the video keeps playing, but because of the ongoing image rotation, it is not visible (when the video's related image comes up in the rotation cycle, the video is in sync with the audio track, so it has clearly been playing)

We are not using SWF Object 2
We are using JW Media Player 4 for flv movies
