Change "Path to Superfish library"

Hallo, I have a problem with the detection of the superfish library. Because of my hoster I can't create a "libraries" folder under sites/all because I have no write permissions.

I thought, I can change the location of the superfish library with the field "Path to Superfish library" under admin/config/user-interface/superfish. But this doesn't work. I got a lot of error messages like this one: Warning: array_merge(): Argument #2 is not an array in superfish_contents() (line 806 of xxx/sites/all/modules/superfish/superfish.module).

I looked in the file superfish.module and the problem seems to be with the function superfish_library() at line 1328. In these function is a check if files like sites/all/libraries/superfish/superfish.js exists. No matter what stands in the "Path to Superfish library" field.

So my question are: For what is the field "Path to Superfish library"? And how can I change the default location of the superfish library (sites/all/libraries/superfish) to something like sites/all/modules/libraries_folder/superfish?
