The documentation states:

"Download the Superfish library and extract it to sites/all/libraries/superfish (so that the superfish.js will be located at http://example.com/sites/all/libraries/superfish/superfish.js)"

Upon downloading either the library or master branch library, the superfish.js file is nested inside of superfish/dist/js -- therefore, there is no way to extract this library into a path where superfish.js is located where the documentation recommends it, unless you physically copy the .js file there. As a result, I am not able to get this module to work, when attempting to follow the documentation instructions explicitly.

I copied the js and css files to the root of libraries/superfish, but that did not seem to resolve the issue ($.browser is undefined appears, even with the development version of the module and the master version of the library).

Am I doing something wrong or missing something obvious?

Where are you getting the library?

If your using the dev version, then it should be https://github.com/mehrpadin/Superfish-for-Drupal/archive/master.zip. I can't see a dist folder in that zip.

I am finding it difficult to install also. Copied the library under sites/all/libraries/superfish. gave the same path as
"sites/all/libraries/superfish" in module settings. Still it is not working (after cleaning the cache etc)

@ajayg, where are you getting the library from? And are you getting errors in the status report? If so, post it on here. You guys are doing something wrong, as it installs fine for me and others, we simply need to find out what.

Using the following instructions for the dev version of the superfish module:

Development release & the master branch of the SF library

The development release contains the most features and the least bugs. Please use it as it helps me learn of potential bugs and issues in order to release a stable version, faster, thank you in advance.
The master branch of the Superfish library is the recommended library for the development releases. Important: Do not use Drush (or Drush Make) for a development release, upload the library (the master branch) manually instead.
If you are upgrading to the development release you may need to add the path to the sfAutomaticWidth plugin manually, in the same way as explained above for the sfSmallscreen plugin.

Provides this error on the status report.

I think this issue happens because we are trying to use the master branch from the superfish authors github page.
