I have two problems with my dropdown menu:
1. It doesn't appear because a block below the main menu "hides it".
2. Even if I remove the block below that is hidding it, the drop-down menus appear but they don't disappear when I move the mouse away.

Hey Chrys,

Can you please email me the URL?

I'm getting the same behaviour -- dropdown will not disappear when mouse out.
Have send a URL to mehrpadin to check and I will also investigate to see if I can find the bug.

Thanks mehrpadin for the look and solution. My issue was CSS code not playing nice with the Superfish menu dropdown and the CSS included some "!important" rules to override the cascade, locking in positioning values.

from mehrpadin

 #superfish-1 ul {top: 87px!important} /* which overrides the top: -99999em; that comes from the JS, preventing the submenu from disappearing */

/* Remove that, and use something like this: */
#superfish-1 li:hover > ul, #superfish-1 li.sfHover > ul { top: 87px; }

Morale of the story is to try not to use "!important" in CSS declarations in menu theme code that Superfish is going power/enhance (and check purchased themes because the theme designer might have used the !important hammer to cobble up their theme).

coolnewmedia, where in the File Manager did you find this? I don't see such code in my style.css, for example. I'm also trying to get my drop-down menus to work with my Danland theme, even though I've enabled 'Show as expanded.'

Thanks.

This actual CSS might be different in your theme so you might need to look for it. There is a few things at play here: Theme CSS, Superfish module and it's javascript (I'm using mehrpadin's latest beta 1.9 as it fixes language negotionation for I18n), and config settings for the Superfish block.

Theme and CSS is where I would start. Can you see the drop-down portion of the supermenu HTML in Firebug? (need to verify it's being generated even though we can't see it?)

Hey there,

I guess I've answered this a few times; Danland does not use this module, it has a built-in jQuery Superfish plug-in (/scripts/superfish.js , documentation here: http://drupalcode.org/project/danland.git/blob/af72ebdcade0d215047968473...) so if there's a problem with the Superfish it should be addressed here: http://drupal.org/project/issues/danland

:)
