As more Drupal and other websites begin using CSS preprocessors (e.g. SASS and LESS), it would be nice to include those with the module or make them available here on d.o.

I'm not a SASS expert, but i've attached my first attempt at translating the superfish "default.css" to scss. Hopefully others can use and improve on this.

There is this awesomely handy website: http://css2sass.heroku.com/
I've simply converted the superfish default CSS files and included the produced SASS files in my theme.

You can actually just use the sass-convert gem to convert the files over quickly.

I've never used auto conversion, generally because my experience with such things has only led to frustration. Does sass-convert or the heroku.com site produce concise, easy to update/maintain SASS? I mean, theoretically, CSS to SASS could simply dump the raw css into a .scss file and that would work, but clearly it's not a good solution. I think what i'm asking for is a really well crafted and documented SASS file that would help others and ease overall styling of superfish.

Apologies for missing this and thanks for sharing! really appreciated; will close as SASS etc make things unnecessarily further complicated; thanks again, feel free to reopen.

I think that an example in the SAMPLE dir would not be more complicate than editing 250 lines of css :)
Thanks jyee for your work and I really like superfish!

Agreed! Sass/compass is an option in most newer themes. Including an example file in the dir shows how superfish can easily adapt to the most current theming standards.

The sample THEMES_SCSS.txt can be found in the master branch of the Superfish library. Look in the folder style/SAMPLES

@mehrpadin. Thank you so much! Really clear documentation and sample variables.
