What is it?

Having many modules is not good but when your site is complex is has many contributed modules and many features, e.g. using Featurize, that contain various components.
You cannot get rid of contributed modules as they power your site. As to the features you most likely need them to deliver the configurations with the reverts.

Superfeature provides a synthetic features component that can be assigned to several disabled features, that component then can be reverted and its status tracked. When any of the above actions happen the same action is taken for all the assigned features.
